Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 9, 2026
Oniontape ("we", "us") is a workspace platform where you build your own apps with AI. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@oniontape.com.
Information We Collect
- Google account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile information (name, email address, and profile picture) to create and identify your account.
- Google Calendar data. If you choose to connect Google Calendar, the apps you build can read your calendars and events, and — if you grant write access — create or update events on your behalf. We access this data only to power the features of the apps you create.
- Content you create. The apps you build, the items you store in your workspace, and the chat messages you exchange with the AI while building apps.
- Payment data. If you purchase a paid plan or credits, your payment is processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details and billing information; we receive only limited information needed to manage your subscription (such as your plan, status, and a customer reference), not your full payment card details.
- Technical data. Basic logs and usage information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
How We Use Information
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To provide the service: storing and syncing your apps and items across devices, and displaying or managing your connected calendar data inside the apps you build.
- To generate app code with AI: your chat messages and app code are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to produce responses.
- To maintain security and prevent abuse.
Google User Data and AI
We do not use Google user data (including Google Calendar data) to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Calendar data is used solely to provide user-facing features in the apps you build.
Limited Use Disclosure
Oniontape's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Payments
Payments for paid plans and credit top-ups are processed by Paddle, who acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle's handling of your payment and billing data is governed by Paddle's own privacy policy. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We do not:
- transfer or sell your data to advertising platforms or data brokers;
- use or transfer your data for serving advertisements, retargeting, or interest-based advertising;
- use or transfer your data to determine credit-worthiness or for lending purposes.
We share data only with service providers that help us operate the service (for example, our hosting and database providers, Google Gemini for AI processing of your chat messages and app code, and Paddle for payment processing), and only as needed to provide the service or as required by law.
Security
- All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
- OAuth tokens for connected Google accounts are stored on our servers and are never exposed to your browser or to the apps you build.
Data Retention and Deletion
- You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time in Settings → Connections. Disconnecting removes our stored tokens for that account.
- You can also revoke Oniontape's access from your Google Account security settings.
- If your account remains inactive for an extended period, we may delete the workspace data we store on our servers, including cloud backups, to free up resources. Before doing so, we will send a notice to your registered email address so you can keep your account active or export your data. Active paid (Pro) accounts are not subject to inactivity deletion.
- To delete your account and associated data, contact us at hello@oniontape.com and we will process your request promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
